Many of the items we obtain are unique, but by keeping in touch with us via our website, our customers will have instant access to items which, for obvious reasons, cannot be included in our printed catalogue.

Mao & Me is a British Company set up by two people who have a passion for China and Chinese culture.

China's history goes back thousands of years and throughout the dynasties art has been expressed in many different forms such as literature, music, calligraphy, painting, architecture and craftwork all which live on today. Some people in the west associate China with ornate heavy carving, complex patterns, searing reds and bright gold but there is another side which began hundreds of years ago in the Ming dynasty. Balance, harmony and order, three words which aptly describe the furniture and interiors from that era. Ming furniture features simple, smooth and flowing lines, with plain but elegant decoration showing the inherent beauty of the furniture's basic structure.

The philosophy of the Company is simple. To bring elegant and beautiful Chinese interiors to Britain. We select designs, fabrics and materials which mesh well with more modern living and have a range of products which we think are a fusion of East and West.
